Bimuno Research and Development
Bimuno is the result of eight years of intensive research conducted in collaboration with the University
of Reading's Food Microbial Sciences Unit.
The research is headed by the Professor of Food Microbiology at the University of Reading, Professor Glenn
Gibson. A highly regarded specialist in the field of prebiotics, Professor Gibson is responsible for leading a
multi-disciplinary research programme in gut microbiology, primarily related to the bacteriology of human
health and disease.
This work was initially achieved using a laboratory model of the human colon in order to identify the most
effective natural food for the beneficial bacteria of the gut. A number of clinical trials have been completed
and subsequent trials will continue to be the focus of ongoing research in this very exciting area which
positively affects all our lives.
There is a plan to introduce additional Bimuno products and applications through original research and
development with the objective of documenting the beneficial effects of the Bimuno franchise in a number of
additional areas. These include:
- Infant Nutrition
- Improvement in the immune system of people over the age of 50
- Relief from many of the symptoms associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Travellers' Diarrhoea
See for yourself what the Bimuno research has shown. Introducing Bimuno into your diet is a convenient and
