Bimuno Advisory Board

The CSMAB (Clasado Scientific and Medical Advisory Board) is an independent advisory board sponsored by the makers of Bimuno and was initially chaired by Professor David B.A. Silk. The Chair is held on a rotational basis. Professor Glenn Gibson is the Scientific Liaison Officer for the CSMAB.

The Advisory Board's main remit is to advise on matters related to Research & Development.

The CSMAB has recently been expanded to include internationally recognised leading experts in the fields of Human Nutrition, Paediatric Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Food Bioscience, Immunobiology, Physiological Science, Gastroenterology, Digestive Research and Carcinoma Research.

Professor David B A Silk is Consultant Physician, Department of Academic Surgery at St. Mary's Hospital, London. He has published more than 300 research papers and books and is the author of 'Understanding Your Irritable Bowel', probably the most comprehensive book on IBS. He is co-author of the British Society of Gastroenterology guidelines for the management of IBS.

Glenn Gibson is Professor of Food Microbiology at the University of Reading. A highly regarded specialist in the field of Prebiotics, he is responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary research programme in gut microbiology, primarily related to the bacteriology of human health and disease.

Professor Miquel A. Gassull is Associate Professor of Medicine at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and Head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol, Barcelona.

Professor Jeremy Marcus Tom Hamilton-Miller is Emeritus Professor of Medical Microbiology at the Royal Free & University College Medical School.

Professor Ian Rowland is Head of Human Nutrition at the School of Food Biosciences and Pharmacy at the University of Reading.

Dr. Daniel Stiel is a Gastroenterologist at the Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney and is Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney.

Dr. W. Allan Walker is the Conrad Taff Professor of Nutrition, Director of the Division of Nutrition and Professor of Paediatrics at the Harvard Medical School and Principal Investigator of the Mucosal Immunology Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Lesley A. Hughton is the non clinical Senior Lecturer in Medicine and Physiological Sciences at the University of Manchester. She is also Manager of the Gastrointestinal Services for South Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Professor H. Rex Gaskins is Professor of Immunobiology, Department of Animal Sciences, University of Illinois Division of Nutritional Sciences.
